The final image is η (Eta) Carinae, a pair of massive and extremely volatile variable stars at a distance of 7,500 ly. The larger of the two, η Car A, is thought to be close to the end of its life. The image was taken with WFPC2 before it was replaced by WFPC3.

STL – The Solar System Traveller

Posted by admin on October 12th, 2009 and filed under solarsystem | 3 Comments »

STL – The Solar System Traveller is a rules design I’ve written for Mongoose Publishing’s Traveller game.

This is a pen & paper RPG, and features a cold war setting, fought out between Earth and Luna, and some excellent changes to the ship design rules to create nuclear thermal deep space craft with rotating habitats, carrying landers and shuttles.

The game is close to completion, to have a look, e-mail me at zozer ‘at’ btinternet.com

The images that went through my head during writing are all magically compiled here in this movie :)
