i have stood in front of some of these paintings in the van Gogh museum in amsterdam. as i stood there i felt his distress and yet there was also some “other” beauty that i cannot name. as i stood in front of his “irises” time just passed me by – the i found an hour had gone. somehow his pain healed some of my pain. odd isn’t it.
