The hitchiker’s guide to the Solar System. Remember: first rule – don’t panic! And the Earth is (mostly) harmless

that means … earth is good …. very good. I like ice cream.

Kyummy17: the big …
Kyummy17: the big bang did…..! read the big bang theory… and if your saying big bang did this all by itself… then its the same argument that god came all by itself….

mabye life jumps …
mabye life jumps planet to planet, as things heat up mabye mares will bare life?

Yes, but that’s now …
Yes, but that’s now, after the Great Expanse..aka the big bang. Before that, before any stars formed or even their constituent matter existed….things were absolute zero. There was absolutely no source of heat in the void before that…
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
Things would not be …
Things would not be absolute zero. Space has been measured at -456F, however absolute zero is -459F. Can you figure out whats creating a slight entropy or 3 degrees of temperature? Its some kind of hard to detect energy, its all around us, it penetrates us, its the presence of our holly God! ok I am kidding!. But yes it is true that is is not quite absolute zero, but either way its more than enough to freeze the oceans, or not let them form in the first place.

well who made all this stuff how did everything become

The first page of …
The first page of the Bible says the the Earth was created in 6 days, complete with animals, plantlife and humans. We have irrefutable scientic proof that is wrong. The earth is billions of years old and was devoid of plant/animal life for billions of years. So your Bible is flat out wrong.

I’ve already had …
I’ve already had this discussion with this guy. My guess is that every once in a while, he posts something to bait people into inane conversations about how “we’ve never seen it so god did it.” You’re not actually arguing with him; I think he’s one of those sickies, getting off on baiting people into arguments. Or terribly, terribly lonely. Either way, save your breath, roll your eyes, and enjoy the documentary.

What “god” the “god …
What “god” the “god of the bible”? You have no proof of that particular “god” existing. Anyway, no “god” is not natural, by definition, therefore, it is not a source of heat. With out our star, no liquid water is possible. Temperatures would be beyond -400 degrees F which means no movement what-so-ever, even at the molecular level. Why am I so much more intelligent than you? Where did you grow up? What school/s did you attend? I really need to know why “christians” are so ignorant of facts.

Wow… i actually …
Wow… i actually laughed out loud. The fact there is a GOD there doesnt have to be a sun, God is that sustaining life. You fail miserably at disproving the bible. Why not open up Genesis and educate yourself and get rid of all your nonsensical misconceptions.
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
Events? The “bible” …
Events? The “bible” doesn’t even correctly cover the “creation”… Nah, if you believe the “bible” then you believe that the Sun came later than earth and earth’s waters. That is an outright lie. Why? Well, without the Sun, things would be “absolute zero” which is another FAIL for the “bible” and its lies. Any liquid water placed here would be in deep freeze quicker than you can blink. Please learn the truth, learn science in general. The authors of the “biblical books” couldn’t help it, you can

Yeh, the only thing …
Yeh, the only thing you’re interested in is your preconceived, mythical idea of the origins of the universe. Explain to me how is it that someone could have foretold of such events 2000 years before it even ocured, such as the prophecy of Daniel. When you can give me a reasonable answer i will tell you my views on the 6 day creation.
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
Oh I am more than …
Oh I am more than interested. Let me ask you this, do you believe that the earth covered in water was present before the Sun, as per Genesis?
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
just as i thought, …
just as i thought, you have no explanation so you must dodge my claim. get back to me when your interested in learning truth and not spoon fed fairy tales such as “evolution is fact”.
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
Ah, so you …
Ah, so you subscribe to the “god of the bible.” Hmm, I see. Well, there is quite a division in your own camp about those things; plenty of “bible believing christians” feel that all or at least some of those things are very likely to have happened, just the way science explains. Where I have to laugh though is when the apologist tries to claim, “Yes, there is a natural cause here… and here.” etc. Then they say, “However, “god” was the “cause” or the “creator” through these naturalistic means.”
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
Essentially what …
Essentially what you have told me here, is that you have no evidence to support your claim, and subsequently no hard evidence against these naturalistic happenings.
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
the debate whether …
the debate whether big bang, abiogenesis or evolution is irrelevant. bible prophecies in stunning detail have all come to pass. some critics even claim that the only explanation is that they were written after the events. try reading the prophecy of daniel, you will be amazed, that is if your after truth?
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
Lol, never mind, I …
Lol, never mind, I looked below this post. Hmm, may I ask you for some evidence to support your claim? In particular, evidence of a “high power” whatever that is in your mind…?
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
What are you …
What are you talking about? No, of course no one has been able to sit around for millions of years and watch the entire process, however, the process can and is being observed in various nebulae. May I ask, how do you believe our Sun formed?
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
I do not agree with …
I do not agree with your logic. To suggest that a lack of direct observation (despite any evidence supporting detection) is a valid argument for the existence of a deity is not reasonable. But if your argument is that lack of direct observation requires a leap of faith, then I concede that I am very much a worshiper of science. The video is not total crap, just because it fails to propose a “higher power” in the absence of observation. Science doesn’t cop out like that.
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
you are avoiding …
you are avoiding the fact that it has never been observed, whereby you are now stepping into the realm of faith and you cannot call this science, as it is a non testable, non observable hypothesis.
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
Actually, there is …
Actually, there is significant, multidisciplinary evidence showing that gaseous clouds, called nebula, do in fact give rise to stars under the gravitational force we have been mathematically aware of for the past 300 years. You’re welcome to Google “Hubble Space Telescope” to see the evidence for yourself. I do not agree with you that “a higher power” is a rational explanation. I don’t presume that you’re wrong to have faith, but it is irrational to use it as a basis for scientific debate.
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
if stars do not …
if stars do not naturally form then the only other rational explanation would be a higher power.
September 30th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
how, then, did it …
how, then, did it happen?
