I have a 10″ LX200 Classic(I used to own a elcheapo walmart scope in the early 80’s that sucked and is dumpster trash now)and that telestar should not even be worth looking at or even mentioning. My Classic is leaps and bounds way better than that telestar.

Only on their “toy” brand scopes are a waste of money. I own two LX200’s. A 16″ and a 10″ Schmidt Cassegrain. Both have provided me with years of trouble free use. I did have a 12″ LX200 in 1998 that gave me some problems, but that was a firmware boot issue on the main board.

    I also have a Meade 2045 LX3 from 1987 that works perfectly.

Celestron, in my opinion only makes one good scope. The C14.

    I can definately …
I can definately see the stars better without the Mead TeleStar telescope. It’s a real waste of money…the worst $50.00 I’ve ever spent for a brand new product. Don’t buy it.
